New Version Installation

If Design Master has previously been installed, updating it with the latest version is a relatively simple task. First, you should download the latest installer.

Download the latest version of DM HVAC.

Download the latest version of DM Electrical.

Once the installer is downloaded, you need to determine where Design Master is installed. The easiest way to check this is in AutoCAD. At the command line, type OPTIONS. Go to the Files tab. Expand the Support File Search Path item. The folder where Design Master is installed is listed in that path.

Run the installer, and select the path determined above as the installation location. The program files will be updated. No customization files, such as your standards and master database and drawing files, will be overwritten.

It is necessary for you to have AutoCAD closed while doing the installation.

If you have Design Master installed on a shared network drive, you will need to have AutoCAD closed on all computers where it is installed. An error stating that a file cannot be copied means that a computer still has AutoCAD open. Once you have found the computer and closed AutoCAD, you can press the Retry option to finish the install.
